Posted 02/07/2007 - 9:37pm by DelMonte I use "your thoughts" sometimes. Your thoughts?
Posted 02/07/2007 - 9:28pm by quade The phrase "please advise" at the end of an email. That pisses me off. You're not on a fucking military radio, taking fire. Stupid.
Posted 02/05/2007 - 9:49pm by DelMonte you know...come to think of it, thats probably a good deal based on the extra exposure they got.

Posted 02/04/2007 - 8:59pm by DelMonte That site makes me nervous...I think I should report it.
Posted 02/04/2007 - 5:29pm by quade Man, that site was da bomb!
Posted 02/04/2007 - 4:37pm by Poohminator This site WILL save your life.
Posted 02/02/2007 - 4:30pm by Chains my problem with it was that it was in 9 other citys for like 2 weeks with no problems AT ALL....they said that the police were contacted in each city about the stunt.....my question is if they were contacted, why did they react the way that they did. I personaly think it was WAY out of control. so if they thought it was a bomb...why the FUCK would they put it in a lit up sign around the city. If you say that it looked suspicious then i say you can call ANYTHING a bomb. Hey someone left a banana on the washington monument.....CALL THE POLICE>>>>>>THAT COULD BE A PIPEBOMB. Actual terrorists couldnt have cause more panic. If we choose to live in fear then we have already lost. i dont usually rant about ANYTHING.....but this has me so pissed off and depressed. and if i piss anyone off on this forum im sorry in advance...this isnt toward anyone...just my personal feelings
Posted 02/02/2007 - 2:40pm by Poohminator It pisses me off how the bank won't let you transfer your funds from your account to a strangers account, but you can withdraw your funds and then deposit it into the strangers account.
Posted 02/01/2007 - 11:12pm by quade You know, I love how fast our world moves, now that we have teh interwebs. You can now buy t-shirts with a picture of Boston's favorite Mooninite that say "ATHF is the bomb!" :)
Posted 02/01/2007 - 9:22pm by Edge78 For one thing, the guys in question were just doing what they were hired to do, put up the ads. If anyone is going to be held responsible for Boston's overreaction, it should be their employer(not that I think they should either). The best resolution would be for the ad agency to say oops, we apologize for not getting proper clearance before that, and Boston to say, oops, we overreacted, but in the future, please clear any type of electronic ad like this with the city prior to deploying them.
Posted 02/01/2007 - 8:01pm by Saint
Sure, doing something stupid in public should have consequences -- you don't yell "fire" in a crowded auditorium, and you don't shout "bomb" in an airport. But I think that in this case, these two guys didn't cause the most harm in the situation, and I don't think they should be the only people to blame.
I would support this. :)
Posted 02/01/2007 - 7:53pm by quade OK, so maybe scapegoat was the wrong word. But I don't think that the city should make these guys pay for shutting the city down. Vandalism, maybe? Criminal mischief, probably? But the cops made (and this is an arguable statement) a bad call, and now they're trying to make the promoters financially responsible for it. I also don't think there are any bad guys in this situation. Sure, doing something stupid in public should have consequences -- you don't yell "fire" in a crowded auditorium, and you don't shout "bomb" in an airport. Posted 02/01/2007 - 7:18pm by Saint I concede that Boston "probably" overreacted. However, were it not for the actions of those two individuals planting those devices around the city, there would have been no need to place the city on high alert. Once the decision was made to close the city down the ball was set in motion. That caused emergency and police officials to be redirected away from other things they could be working on to address what turned out to be a false-alarm. A false alarm that was triggered by the two individuals. It's like, if you ordered a pizza and then decided to eat some cereal at your house before the pizza got there to save some money... you still have to pay for the pizza when it shows up (provided you didn't do the logical thing and cancel the order). edit: something didn't sit right in the way you worded something... I think it's the word "scapegoat." The city officials and other folks were just doing their job to protect people against what could have potentially been a threat. Are you implying they are the bad guys? Should people like those two be let off the hook with a chuckle and a shake of the finger while they all stand around and say, "you silly guys!" No. Innocuous though it might seem, clever terrorists would adopt similar tactics.
Posted 02/01/2007 - 7:13pm by quade I think the next publicity stunt is to claim that women (chesty ones, mainly) are smuggling bombs in their bras onto planes; much like the shoe bomber (which forces innocent Americans to now take off their shoes in airports). Then, just kinda hang outside any random TSA "security" checkpoint, and wait. Happily. In all seriousness though (not that I really take it all that serious to begin with), I think Boston overreacted. Sure, it may look like a bomb to those unaware of the HTF; but surely there is at least a single cop in Boston that would have recognized it. And seeking reparations just seems like a way to scapegoat these two individuals, rather than admit that they overreacted.
Posted 02/01/2007 - 6:15pm by Saint What business did those two individual have in placing those items around Boston anyway? While people at large may have overreacted, I'm glad that the city responded in the manner that it did. I don't consider myself to be living in fear but had I been an individual not familiar with the ATHF logos, I'd be suspicious too if I found stuff like that in subways and other high profile spots. I understand Boston is seeking monetary damages for the cost of shutting the city down. Kudos to Boston.
Posted 02/01/2007 - 5:29pm by quade Well, we should fear the terrorists. In this country, you run almost the same chances of dying due to an act of terrorism as you do being struck by lightening. And lightening strikes nearly once a second on this planet. So. Yes, be afraid. You should be. :scared:
Posted 02/01/2007 - 11:17am by Edge78 MUST KEEP POPULACE FEARING TERROR AT EVERY TURN What the hell is wrong with people? Must we really live in a constant state of fear from every little thing? Oh my God, there was something laying on the side of the road on my way to work today, it must be a fucking bomb. That guy at the airport looks nervous, he must be a terrorist.
Posted 09/29/2006 - 10:03pm by DelMonte Quade apparently loves for people to feel his fake boobs.
Posted 09/27/2006 - 9:23pm by quade OK, so it doesn't piss me off... but I'm sure it does some people. Actually, I'm thinking a job with TSA might have a handful of perks... 8) |
