It looks good, that goes without saying. I hope it's more than a first-person shooter with magic, though. Otherwise I fear it will fall flat.

Heres some screeners for shadowrun. This is probably the only game I'm interested in at all of E3 so far, I mean the new Zelda and ddo stuff is cool, but this is SHADOWRUN!!!!!

xbox
PC

Oh chains, I read your link, and the subsequent users posts.. its kinda scary/sad to me that so many gamers are like, whats shadowrun, or compare it to the snes game... I guess it makes me feel old, specially since I'm so excited about this title.

Shadowrun anyone?

and this was announced today at a microsoft pre E3 conference
12:33: Trailer for FASA's Shadowrun. Generally realistic, but slightly exaggerated character models. Multiplayer with "weapons and techniques we've never seen before." Coming to 360 and Vista at Vista launch.

12:47: Invites Scott Henson, director of platform strategy for Xbox and Games for Windows.. Henson points out that as soon you turn on 360, you are connected to 360. Demonstrates Shadowrun menu screen, shows friends list. Friends list pictures also shows not just what games are being played, but if users are on their cell phone or working on Windows. He sends an invitation to his friend Major Nelson, who is working on the PC. On Major Nelson's desktop there is a small integrated friends list showing friends across multiple platforms, and his gamertag. You will be able to boost Gamerscore by doing things (presumably, playing games?) on Windows Vista. Henson's invitation pops up on Nelson's screen. Achievements can be unlocked in Shadowrun in the PC or the 360 version. Shadowrun's voice chat will work across the two platforms.
heres a good read on the new Age of Conan MMO coming out this winter.
One of the unique features of Age of Conan is that the game begins with what may be one of the best tutorial sequences ever -- a full-blown single player game. Indeed, Funcom fully expects that many of those who purchase the game will never enter the online space once their character reaches level 20 and finishes the single-player adventure. For those who do, however, they will find that entering the MMO at level 20 is significantly different than starting a new character at level one. "We don't want players fighting rats," Godager said. "Players will enter the online world as characters of significant power and experience who already have a history of great accomplishments behind them."

"We're really embracing our 'M' rating," Godager says to me as I explore the character creation system. Key to the aesthetic that the Funcom development team is using for Age of Conan is the idea that Conan's Hyborea is far removed from your standard-issue Tolkien-esque pseudo-medieval-Europe fantasy world. Hyborea is brutal, savage, dark, and lush world filled with decadent civilizations battling with brutish nations, monsters out of a Lovecraft nightmare, and the raw sexuality of oiled-up barbarians and chicks in chainmail. Some of that isn't terribly pretty, though. This is a world where slavery, murder, blood sports, human sacrifice, dark magic, and barbarism are utterly unquestioned facets of human existence.
Personaly im more of a PC gamer than i am a console gamer. I dont have an XBOX 360. BUT i do plan on getting a playstation 3 and a Nintendo Wii. The Nintendo is more for my sons benefit but its also an excuse for me and my love of Nintendo staples like zelda and mario.

if your into PC gaming then you need to listen to this podcast. I have listened since day 1 and its been great!

Anybody besides me notice that it's getting to be cheaper to build a dedicated gamer machine than buy one of these consoles?

Ok. You play video games with your system. I play video games with my system. Everyone else here tries to turn them into computers. Anyone else here besides Chains and I that thought we needed a VGN thread for a long time comin'?

Oh yeah, and Wii :O
